SolidWorks Training
SolidWorks is a computer-aided design (CAD) package used throughout engineering and industry to design 3D models. This course gets you familiar with the tool and its interface, teaches you to design 3D parts and assemblies, run simple simulations and produce technical drawings.
- Duration 2 to 3 days
- Level Beginner to intermediate
- Format On site (your premises) or online
- Price from 1100 € excl. VAT / day
- Lead time 14 days after the training agreement is signed
Learning objectives
- Get familiar with the tool and its interface.
- Design 3D parts and assemblies.
- Produce industrial drawings and simple simulations.
- Organise and manage design files.
Syllabus
Day 1 — Getting started and parts
- The interface: command manager, FeatureManager and PropertyManager, mouse functions, keyboard shortcuts.
- Sketching: relations, dimensioning, best practices.
- Modelling a mechanical part: extrude, revolve, loft and sweep features.
Day 2 — Assemblies and drawings
- Creating a welded assembly or an assembly with motion mates.
- Producing an industrial drawing: views, sections, dimensions, bill of materials.
- Exercises; file management (references, Pack and Go).
Day 3 (optional) — Mini-project
- Mini-project applied to a part or assembly from your company.
- Introduction to SolidWorks Simulation; sheet metal or weldments depending on your needs.
Audience and prerequisites
Engineers, project managers and anyone working in mechanical design. Prerequisites: basic knowledge of mechanics and design.
Teaching methods and assessment
Course materials, corrected exercises, mini-project, end-of-course assessment reviewed by Numersalis, certificate of completion. Participants work on their company's SolidWorks licences.
Why train with Numersalis?
SolidWorks is one of the tools of our CAD design office: our instructors design parts and manufacturing files for industry and pass on the methods that make models robust and easy to modify.
Funding
Numersalis is Qualiopi certified: for companies based in France, our courses are eligible for funding through your OPCO training fund. We help you with the paperwork.
Accessibility
Our courses are open to people with disabilities: contact us so we can plan the adjustments you need.
Frequently asked questions
The one installed in your company. The content applies to recent versions; we point out differences where useful.
Weldments are covered within assemblies; sheet metal and SolidWorks Simulation can be the subject of the third day or of a tailored module.
Yes: send us an example before the session and it becomes the basis of the mini-project.
